( On the Oral History section of this website there is an interview with John Shepherd ) Bought by John Shepherd and his mother, from Dickie Earnshaw in 1933 ( or 1936 ?) for £1300 - to include the stock and the next door cottage. Then after the war, he ran it with his wife Frances, before selling it to Mr Nelson in 1952
